Position Summary/ObjectiveThe Accounting Manager is responsible for developing and executing on the corporate strategies and initiatives to provide and analyze financial data and provide visibility company wide to all internal teams and external reporting. You will compile, validate, and accurately report financial information to management. You will collaborate across internal teams to identify, strategize, and recommend process improvement, protect Marco’s assets, and reduce exposure to risk.
Additionally, this role is a management position that will be held responsible for guiding the development, maintenance, and allocation of work and resources to attain the department and organizational goals. You will be responsible for hiring, coaching, and training members of the team.
- Manage the assigned support accounting team members: lead, coach, and train team; develop and implement strategic initiatives; be an escalation point of contact.
- Maintain and update inventory: manage the financial inventory function, process used copier trade-ins, valuation, track and resolve discrepancies; conduct quarterly cycle counts, perform internal test observations, review monthly inventory write-offs, consult with internal teams, oversee year-end physical inventory.
- Analyze Marco’s metrics and data to make strategic recommendations: report and track performance on a regular cadence; work across internal teams to analyze data and act on appropriately; provide and analyze contract profitability and details; ensure contract pricing aligns with Marco’s goals.
- Oversee preparation of financial statements and reporting: build standard of work for accounting processes; identify and recommend opportunities, functions, and reporting; research and resolve any items and associated entries; maintain month and year end closing procedures and financial statement audit; collaborate with Marco leadership on strategic initiatives.
- Attend required company and departmental meetings; act in accordance with Marco policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook; perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license; prior supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
- Aptitude for outcome-based reasoning.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with internal and external clients.
- Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no supervision.
