Press Room Feeder - Entry Level

Must be quality minded and pay attention to detail. Must ensure quality product and keep the machine running to the full potential of the machine. Should possess the mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights, and measures. Must have basic computer skills. Work involves mental and visual attention, accuracy, and efficiency. Must take reasonable care of company property and equipment. Must maintain operation of machines, which may include cleaning, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Assist in all duties required of operation of offset press, to include assurance of quality of printed image and accurate registration
• Must independently read job tickets to understand specifications.
• Be proficient in determining correct weight, brand, and finish of paper.
• Proactively locate and stage materials, paper, plates and ink, PMS ink if needed.
• Proficiently hang proper plates in relation to job ticket.
• Be proficient to up, maintain, and troubleshoot feeder and register press.
• Effectively communicate with operator and other shifts.
• Basic computer and time keeping skills.
• Rule up and inspect sheets at set up.

• Monitor pH of fountain solution and keep mixing tanks full.
• Keep chemicals filled.
• Ensure safe practices with chemicals and cleanliness.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required.
• Complete any required documentation.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe press and work area.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of print industry experience.
• Press or perfecting experience.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending and reaching.

Fast‑paced environment in which employee is exposed to noise, machinery with moving parts. Noise level is usually loud. Personal protective equipment may be advised or required.
