The AV Technician II is responsible for providing quality services and solutions to our clients while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot AV systems within client buildings, working with low voltage cabling, racking equipment, and AV components to deliver high‑quality installation services. The role involves assisting the Lead Technician and may include supervising a crew of up to two people to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.
EssentialFunctions
- Run new low voltage cable in new or existing client buildings.
- Terminate, test, and troubleshoot low voltage cabling.
- Install and assemble racking equipment and AV components.
- Assist a Lead Technician in installation projects, managing time and tasks of a Tech 1 or subcontractors.
- Troubleshoot basic AV or Video Surveillance systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems. Escalate issues beyond established skill set.
- Maintain current technical knowledge and continuously expand knowledge of new technology and equipment.
- Perform job duties independently.
- Represent Marco in a professional manner at all times.
- Perform work safely, including loading/unloading vehicles, lifting equipment, climbing, etc.
- Use good judgment and maintain constant attention to work.
- Maintain Marco vehicle and parts inventory.
- Accurately maintain documentation and comply with service administrative procedures in a timely manner, including pick tickets, client signatures, and time entry.
- Attend required company and departmental meetings.
- Lead a crew of up to 2 people as needed to complete assigned projects.
- Act in accordance with Marco policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Associate degree and two years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current CTS certificate or working toward obtaining within one year from hire or transfer.
- QSC Level 1.
- Registered unlicensed Power Limited Technician (if state required) working toward PLT.
- Valid Driver’s License, proof of personal insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
- Proficiency with business collaboration tools such as MS Office applications and Visio.
- Strong communication skills with technical and non‑technical people, and ability to develop and maintain collaborative relations among all levels of an organization.
- Commitment to see a project or task completed from start to finish, demonstrating thoroughness and dedication.
- Initiative and self‑starter ability; resolve problems in a timely manner, or seek resources when unable to resolve.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in the work environment.
- Teamwork: contribute to a positive team spirit and share responsibility for outcomes.
- Time Management: prioritize multiple tasks and keep them running simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Completion of online courses including Crestron 101, Toolbox, and Digital Media preferred.
$24.98 - $38.72 hourly + bonus opportunities.
The pay range is based on candidate’s skill level, experience, relevant licenses, and educational background.
