We’re now hiring year-round, part-time swim instructors and lifeguards with leadership opportunities available within your first 3-6 months. Yes, you can grow with Goldfish even if this is your after school or second job to help your future career!

Summary:

As a swim instructor, you will instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum. After each 30 minute lesson, you communicate progress (and celebrate the accomplishments!) with parents and caregivers. As a lifeguard, you will maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of guests in the event of an accident or emergency

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
• Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
• Evaluate students’ progress, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
• Ensures that medical services are contacted by most appropriate means when necessary to respond to an emergency
• Advance through cross-training in multiple roles and substitutes when necessary
• Interact with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills
• Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
• Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment. Place and remove lane lines and class materials before/after lessons
• Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion
• Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
• Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your employer
