Role SummaryThe M/E Engineer III will complete increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities. This position will be responsible for collecting and assembling data, developing estimates, and generating systems and bid analysis. All activities support JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.
Key Role Responsibilities – Core- Learn and participate in safety and quality plans, ensuring an injury‑free environment.
- Complete routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated estimating systems.
- Review mechanical and electrical options, complete systems analysis, and provide value engineering suggestions.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical scopes during the bid process.
- Assist with bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
- Develop sequencing requirements for systems to meet schedule requirements.
- Identify potential quality problems and develop constructability review reports.
- Perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
- Assist with shop drawing/submittal process to comply with contract documents.
- Assist with commissioning, including developing pre‑functional checklists and functional testing procedures.
- Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.
- Complete increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Develop budgetary M/E estimates from program and schematic documents.
- Review mechanical and electrical options, complete systems analysis, and recommend best systems.
- Coordinate scopes during the bid process.
- Develop sequencing requirements and provide scheduling input.
- Identify and address potential quality issues.
- Perform job inspections to ensure quality.
- Generate and issue commissioning plans and verify contractor performance.
- Review and approve shop drawings.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced co‑workers.
- Create M/E tools and innovative solutions to improve processes.
- Lead and promote diversity and inclusion.
- Accurate and timely work.
- Intermediate verbal and written communication.
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office.
- Read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Basic proficiency with JE Dunn M/E tools and software.
- Knowledge of construction management methods.
- Strong relationship building and collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering or related field (required).
- Equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years construction and/or engineering experience (preferred).
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license required.
