Base Pay Range$51,800.00/hr - $82,800.00/hr
SummaryWe’re excited to share this opportunity as part of our continued growth in the area. CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Ag Retail division for an EHS Specialist
. In this role, you’ll provide technical support and guidance on all matters related to safety. You’ll be responsible for implementing and managing existing safety programs to ensure compliance and foster a culture of safety across our operations.
- With assistance, coordinate compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) governing bodies (federal, state, local, and company).
- Conduct most basic EH&S related audits, workplace inspections, job safety analysis, and maintain detailed recordkeeping.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with supported business unit locations to enhance communication, alignment, and overall effectiveness.
- Assist in the development and implementation of EH&S related plans, programs, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct effective EH&S related training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Conduct accident investigations, manage worker’s compensation process, and return to work program.
- Communicate EH&S related requirements and expectations to other departments and personnel to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment.
- Properly respond to day‑to‑day EH&S related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Keep current on all applicable EH&S related rules and regulations.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
- Strong relationship‑building skills
- Detail‑oriented with excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to influence and drive safety initiatives
- High School diploma or GED
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health, and/or Safety
- Valid Driver’s License
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Occupational Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field
- Pre‑employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre‑employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements and FMSCA Clearinghouse.
- Ability to climb ladders and operate equipment needed to inspect facilities
- Ability to work in dusty and adverse and changeable weather conditions
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
