Job Overview

This role involves originating, managing, and supervising the Credit Union's portfolio of member business loans, with an overall objective of maintaining and increasing its asset quality and developing new and existing business relationships.

Salary Range

Base pay range: $81,673.44/yr - $81,673.44/yr

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

50% Takes applications for member business loans. Reviews member financial condition and assesses the member's ability to re-pay the loan. Makes underwriting decisions within approval authority. Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.
20% Participates in developing lending and deposit business for the Credit Union. Calls on clients to expand existing business; calls on prospects seeking opportunities to expand the Credit Union's client base.
10% Monitors existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base. Maintains up-to-date member files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow projections and all loan documentation.
10% Assists in collection of past due loans.
5% Assists members with any loan-related questions and concerns.
5% Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements

Consistently follows The North Star Way Service Competencies and Service Standards.

Achieve or exceed assigned loan volume (dollars and/or numbers).

Ensure loan decisions are made and relayed to appropriate parties within 7 days of complete application.

Maintain a 30-day delinquency rate at or below 1% of loan portfolio.

Maintain a charge-off rate of no more than 0.40% of loan portfolio.

Ensure loan decisions are in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Lending regulations, policies and procedures.

Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.

Provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and associates.

Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.

Actively participate in Community and Credit Union Industry activities and events.

Minimum unplanned absences and tardiness.

Knowledge and Skills Experience

Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.

Education

A bachelor's degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Other Skills

Must have experience in analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses; must have excellent communication and PR skills; ability to use related software required.
