The City of Minot is accepting applications for the entry level position of FIREFIGHTER in the Minot Fire Department, with an Final date to receive applications of Friday, October 23rd, 2026.
Nature of WorkThe City of Minot is accepting applications for the entry-level position of FIREFIGHTER. This is a full time, nonexempt civil service position. This is skilled fire suppression and emergency response work involving responding to citizen calls for emergency assistance due to fires and other crisis situations; operates fire suppression equipment. Applicants must complete the written firefighter exam, complete a job-related physical agility and fitness test, oral interviews, background investigation, and post-offer medical exam.

- Graduation from high school or GED
- The assigned salary range for Firefighter under the 2026 City of Minot Annual Pay Plan is Grade 58, with an annual salary range of $53,113 – $78,847 per year.
- This is a full time, FLSA non-exempt position.

Firefighter testing will take place on Friday, October 30th, 2026 beginning at 9:00 AM. Physical Agility Testing immediately follows written exam. First & Second round interviews will occur on same day Friday, October 30th, 2026.
