Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Program Manager

SSES OPER Full Time Minot, ND, US

2 days ago Requisition

Company Overview:

Adams Communication & Engineering Technology (ACET), Incorporated is a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) system engineering and information technology firm. Incorporated in 1999, we support mission critical Information Technology (IT) business needs for clients within the intelligence community (IC), Department of Defense (DOD), Veteran Administration (VA) and for select commercial clients. ACET, Inc.’s technical, programmatic, and analytical professionals are experts in commercial technology, customized solutions, and proprietary government systems.

The Position:

ACET is hiring for an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Program Manager for the 5th Bomb Wing and 5th Operations Group at Minot AFB, North Dakota
. The 5th Bomb Wing operates the B-52H.

This position runs the EFB program for the Wing and Operations Group: device administration, publications currency and the security directives that govern both. Performance is measured against defined standards. Safety-of-flight publications must be ready for use within 24 hours of notification, other publication changes within three duty days, software updates initiated within two duty days of availability, and no more than ten percent of devices may be out of date.

Deployments are a regular feature of B-52H operations, so preparing, auditing and recovering devices around deployment cycles is a recurring part of the job.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the EFB system administrator in Black Berry Unified Endpoint Management (BBUEM) or its successor MDM, completing the training certificates required to configure, track, issue, reset, update, and maintain devices at the Wing level.
  • Keep the Wing and Operations Group EFB program compliant with AFGSCI 11-270 and current Baseline Configuration announcements.
  • Act as primary Wing EFB Program Manager alongside a designated alternate. Keep EFB Manager appointment letters accurate, archived, and submitted to the AFGSC/A3T EFB Workflow mailbox while liaising with AFGSC/A3TV.
  • Handle maintenance, upgrades, patching, and restoration beyond squadron capability using administrative access to the MDM console, Fore Flight administration, and Exclusive Use Stand-Alone (EUSA) computers.
  • Ensure every EUSA computer holds current Technical Orders, Currency of Directives, Flight Crew Information Files, Special Interest Items, and FLIP as determined by the Operations Group Chief of Stan/Eval. Update EUSAs by wireless, hard drive, or disc, and standardize publications across EUSA, SharePoint, and shared-drive platforms.
  • Notify aircrew by email of publication updates and changes to EFB or stand-alone procedures.
  • Administer Fore Flight accounts and coach squadron EFB managers on configuration for worldwide FLIP use.
  • Maintain commercial internet (WiFi) service for EFB connectivity by relaying outages to the ISP, scheduling repairs, and escorting technicians on base.
  • Maintain accountability as equipment custodian for all Operations Group EFB hardware, enroll hardware-refresh devices in the AFGSC Device Enrollment Program and MDM before issue, and decommission obsolete equipment through ITEC and DRMO channels.
  • Build the sustainment cost estimate and inventory plan with the Resource Advisor and report it through the annual group budget process.
  • Track lost or stolen devices and conduct device audits to verify unit compliance.
  • Monitor technology releases and iOS updates and maintain an obsolescence mitigation plan. Engage in future EFB capability planning as directed by the Operations Officer.
  • Prepare the EFB Audit Report and EFB Sustainment Report annually, and perform Stan Eval administrative duties when required.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance to access the airfield and military installation.
  • Working knowledge of iOS and macOS; two (2) years of IT or device management experience is desired.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Microsoft suite experience, with the ability to manage SharePoint and Microsoft Teams applications.

Why Join ACET:

ACET continues to expand its aerospace and aviation sustainment operations supporting multiple Department of Defense aviation platforms worldwide. This position provides the opportunity to directly shape strategic…
