Nurse Educator-Perioperative

The Perioperative Services Nurse Educator is responsible and accountable for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the staff development and educational activities for Perioperative Services. Ensures the quality of patient care delivered in Perioperative Services through the assessment, coaching and development of the perioperative staff. Participates in the development and implementation of orientation, education, and training programs for the service line which includes the Operating room, GI Lab, PACU, Prep-Recovery, Pre-Admission Testing and the Central Processing Unit.

• Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN license.
• BLS, ACLS required within orientation period. Other certifications may be required to obtain depending on the needs of the department.

• RN by licensure required, BSN and/or Masters preferred.
• Non-BSN applicants:
  Completion of BSN program required within first 3 years of holding the position.
• Official diploma or transcript from the school/university from where Degree was received.

• The position requires 3 years of applied clinical experience as an RN in the operating room. Ability to circulate and scrub cases is preferred.
• Post Anesthesia Care unit experience is preferred.
• At least one year (1) experience teaching and/or precepting in perioperative services preferred.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office and audio-visual equipment.
