• Act as a patient advocate for the patient and their support system by incorporating education in the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels, ensuring timely completion of care interventions and medical orders.
• Administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and transport patients.
• Provide routine respiratory care such as ABGs and bronchial hygiene therapy, while performing higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations.
• Demonstrate independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care, practicing according to state requirements and standards.
• In critical care settings: manage ventilators, participate in code blue, perform airway management, interpret and intervene with blood gas analysis, and use related protocols for patient care.
• Document care in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory requirements.

• Education
  • 2‑Year / Associate Degree, required.
  • 4‑Year / Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification Current RCP licensure in the appropriate state, required.
