Base pay range

Job Summary

The Reconstruction Technician is responsible for providing construction services as required on small construction projects. Reconstruction Technicians deliver high quality construction and service in all dealings with customers, clients, subcontractors, resource providers, and company employees involved in managing construction services. They may assist managing larger projects with a Supervisor, e.g., making calls to subcontractors and performing quality control.

Responsibilities
  • Assist colleagues on-site by replenishing required materials.
  • Perform construction services including rough and finish carpentry, drywall, painting, prefinished hardwood, and installation of laminate flooring.
  • Resolve punch list items in a timely manner.
  • Provide project updates (daily narrative) to the Construction Coordinator in electronic format.
  • Pick up and deliver material supplies and/or manage material deliveries.
  • Document all project activities including photos, job diary, and signing documents in Dash.
  • Maintain quality standards through site inspections.
  • Perform construction services within budget and within scope.
  • Validate schedule and progress with the Project Manager.
  • Communicate information to customers and update Supervisor with responses.
  • Train and develop junior technicians as needed.
  • Demo affected materials as needed.
  • Remove, detach, store, and reattach furniture, appliances, and contents as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 1 year experience in a construction role
  • Experience in tile, carpet, roofing, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC a plus
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to use small hand and power tools including miter saw
  • Ability to carry out simple tasks on a computer or hand-held devices
  • Ability to use safety equipment such as goggles, gloves, and earplugs as required
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness
  • General knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and roofing
  • Basic drywall installation
  • Ability to install windows and doors
  • Ability to assist with roofing applications
  • Knowledge of materials used in construction and maintenance projects
  • Ability to build temporary structures, such as scaffolding and bracing
  • Operate machinery such as skid steer, tractor, and dumpster trucks
  • Experience with mixing and pouring construction materials (mortar, concrete, grout)
  • Familiarity with installing and grouting tile
  • Understanding of removing and installing plumbing supply fixtures and supply lines

  • Exposure to extreme conditions such as heat
  • Noise at jobsites can be loud
  • Exposure to power tools and other machinery
Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, And Travel Requirements

This is a full-time position, with working hours varying between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, minimum 40 hours per week. May require longer hours, on-call, and weekend work in support of emergency services. Travel is primarily local, with some out-of-area and overnight travel possible.
