Overview

Multi-Unit Team Leader role at H&R Block
. Lead three tax offices and the customer-centric teams there to accelerate the seasonal tax business. Start with a flexible part-time schedule in the fall, transitioning to full-time from January to April, including evenings and weekends as needed. This role is in-person and not remote.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices and the customer-centric teams in those offices to accelerate the seasonal tax business.
  • Serve as the front-line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving office growth objectives for three tax offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required.
  • Start a flexible part-time schedule in the fall to prepare for the busy tax season; from January to April, transition to full-time, including evenings and weekend hours as needed.
  • In-person role; travel between the three offices as required.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
You would be a great fit if you have
  • Multi-unit people management experience in the retail, restaurant, banking, or related industry.
What you ll bring to the team
  • Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders
  • Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office-level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement
  • Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and partner with the Associate Relations Center to resolve associate issues and address performance concerns
  • Build an engaging team environment across all offices by training and coaching associates and recognizing outstanding contributions
  • Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates
  • Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management for associates in all offices
  • Travel between offices as required
  • Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment*
Your Expertise
  • People management experience with the demonstrated ability to grow and develop associates
  • Aptitude for executing growth plans and leading toward a growth-oriented culture
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills; ability to function well in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with the equivalent combination of experience
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns)
