Exercise Physiologist

St Joseph Medical Center is looking for an Exercise Physiologist to join our team. This part‑time, day‑shift role will provide the exercise prescriptions and consultations, coordinate the program’s exercise functions, conduct wellness classes and presentations, and report to the department manager.

• Uphold the organization’s mission, core values, and compliance with all health, safety, and medical regulations.
• Review patient evaluations and exercise histories to develop and update individualized exercise prescriptions in collaboration with healthcare providers.
• Monitor patient health and safety during sessions, document progress, and adjust plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, home exercise programs, stress management, and behavior modification.
• Lead group exercise, relaxation, and educational sessions; assess patient responses and readiness for change.
• Participate in discharge planning, team meetings, process improvement, and ongoing program development.
• Maintain required competencies, certifications and organizational standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy, allied health or exercise science. Certified by ACSM as an Exercise Specialist or a master’s degree in Exercise/Exercise Physiology.
• Current license to practice in the state of Indiana (if physical therapist). Certified in Basic Life Support. ACLS Certification preferred.
• Prefer two years previous experience in adult fitness and/or cardiac rehabilitation programs.
