Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Location:Mishawaka, IN (100% onsite)
Schedule:Monday-Friday
Salary:$48,000-$56,000
About The OpportunityOur client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to oversee purchasing activities and ensure materials, supplies, and services are obtained efficiently and cost-effectively. This individual will work closely with internal departments and external vendors while playing a key role in maintaining inventory levels, negotiating pricing, and supporting daily operational needs.
Key Responsibilities- Source, procure, and track materials, supplies, equipment, and services
- Obtain quotes, compare pricing, and negotiate with vendors to secure the best value
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Maintain vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed
- Research alternative products and suppliers to improve cost savings and efficiency
- Resolve purchasing, delivery, or invoicing discrepancies
- Maintain purchasing records and ensure compliance with company procedures
- 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, buyer, inventory, or supply chain experience
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Experience creating purchase orders and managing vendor communications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Manufacturing, distribution, construction, utilities, public works, or maintenance purchasing experience
- Inventory management and supply planning experience
- Experience working with multiple vendors and sourcing a wide range of products and services
