- Work-Life Balance: We promote a positive work environment with flexible hours, including a day off during the week and rotating Saturday shifts.
- Work closely with the Practice Manager and Medical Director to supervise, train, and mentor technicians and assistants.
- Coordinate department schedules, delegate tasks, and manage workflow to ensure efficiency.
- Assist with evaluations of technicians and assistants and provide input on performance.
- Lead department meetings, sometimes alongside the Practice Manager.
- Participate in hospital planning meetings and attend seminars that pertain to it
- Keep up to date with veterinary software, products, medical equipment, and veterinary medicine advancements and provide staff training with clinic.
- Serve on leadership team and act as a liaison for department; communicate hospital policies and procedures to department
- Treat all employees fairly and impartially with regard to scheduling, coaching, and feedback/disciplinary action.
- Resolve informal employee complaints and help meditate interpersonal problems amongst the staff with fairness and empathy.
- Lead by example, promoting professionalism, emotional intelligence, and excellent patient care and customer service.
- Demonstrate initiative in everyday duties and assist employees.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, standards, and procedures as stated in the manual and/or by standard operating procedures.
- Providing in-hospital monitoring and treatments
- Obtaining imaging and diagnostic samples
- Providing safe and balanced anesthesia for dentistry and surgery and nursing care associated with these procedures
- Keeping accurate records in our easy-to-use cloud based and AI-assisted software
- Communicating effectively with the team and clients
- Performing technician appointments with autonomy to provide great service to pets and their people
- Prioritizes tasks and handles multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
- At least three years’ recent experience as a Veterinary Technician with active, or ability to gain, Indiana licensure.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited program
