Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Field Supervisor or General Manager
Status: Full‑time, Regular position

Under general supervision, performs precision tune‑ups and maintenance on HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customers to answer questions, resolves problems, and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance calls under general supervision.
- Conduct routine precision tune‑ups and maintenance on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories accurately and promptly.
- Inspect and perform limited diagnostics to identify potential problems and prevent premature or unexpected breakdowns.
- Complete routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed.
- Deliver and remove parts and equipment required to complete service work.
- Assist the Service Technician with servicing HVAC equipment and accessories.
- Use a hand‑held device to record all required information on customer calls; complete all forms and paperwork neatly, timely, and accurately. Collect payment from customers if necessary.
- Communicate with dispatch while on duty to provide accurate status reports.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Promote products and services to customers; call sales and service coordinator with replacement product leads.
- Ensure company property, vehicles, and tools are maintained and properly accounted for.
- Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically.
- Follow standard procedures and processes; keep company vehicle properly stocked.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Report any unsafe acts, conditions, or hazards promptly to direct supervisor or manager.
- Report any contravention of legislation, policy, procedure, or program promptly.
- Correct substandard acts or conditions within area of control.
- Use and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed.
- Avoid removing or rendering ineffective safety guards, devices, or clothing.
- Comply with the general rules prescribed by company program(s).
- Operate devices or equipment as prescribed.
- Participate in safety initiatives, teams, or committees.
- Report all injuries or incidents immediately.
- Provide input on developing safety initiatives and plans to eliminate exposures.
- Avoid acts that may endanger the safety or well‑being of others.
- Avoid pranks, contests, or rough boisterous behavior.
- Work in compliance with applicable legislative requirements.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; additional training and 0‑2 years’ experience in HVAC; technical training certification preferred.
- All valid licensing or certification required by applicable laws for the area.
- EPA and safety certifications required.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC fundamentals and related accessories.
- Proficient mechanical aptitude; ability to operate necessary tools and equipment.
- Basic skills in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems.
- Effective communication skills with customers.
- Time‑management and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
- Available for flexible hours and on‑call shifts as needed.
- Experience performing basic maintenance on HVAC equipment desirable.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
- Ability to work in diverse environmental conditions.
- Ability to safely climb ladders rated for 300 lb load with a 30 lb tool belt.
- Vision adequate for close and distance work with normal depth perception.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lb and carry items up to 30 lb.
