Team & CultureWe are seeking local candidates in the Mission BC area to join our heavy civil construction team on a local project. Our projects are fast-paced, physically demanding, and require individuals capable of performing 10-12 hour shifts with consistency and professionalism. The ideal candidate takes direction effectively while demonstrating the ability to work independently. The Quality Coordinator will work collaboratively across all on-site departments, making strong teamwork and communication skills essential to success in this role.
They will bring hands-on field experience in soil and concrete testing, paired with exemplary verbal and written communication abilities. A comfort level with data management and timely reporting is required, as accurate documentation plays a key role in maintaining project quality standards.
- Coordinate and support the administrative and scheduling needs of the project, ensuring deliverables are met and communicated to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders.
- Proactively identify and communicate project risks, key plans, and areas of concern to all stakeholders, while providing timely reports to multiple departments and corporate head office.
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and completion of quality control documentation, record keeping, and non-conformance reports in accordance with company standards.
- Review project drawings and conduct thorough field inspections, ensuring all work procedures and specifications are being followed on site.
- Perform and oversee proper soil and concrete sampling and testing procedures, ensuring results are accurately documented and communicated to management, consultants, and engineers as required.
- Record, report, and track deficiencies, ensuring corrective actions are completed within required timelines and reflected in the QC tracker.
- Collaborate with site management and operations teams to uphold the quality program while adapting to the dynamic demands of a heavy civil construction environment.
- Complete and upload quality reports, checklists, and supporting photographs to the company drive in a timely manner.
- Participate in weekly look-ahead meetings and coordinate the timely delivery of all samples to applicable laboratories.
- Analyze technical reports and documentation with a high level of accuracy and proficiency.
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience in a comparable construction, quality assurance, or coordination role, with a demonstrated understanding of heavy civil construction operations and site environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to efficiently manage documentation, spreadsheets, and correspondence in a fast-paced project setting.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A solid understanding of cost control principles and how quality management directly impacts project budgets and timelines.
- Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to follow established procedures, complete accurate documentation, and maintain organized and up-to-date project records.
- Experience in basic administrative support or document control, including filing, tracking, and managing project-related records and reports.
- A valid CCIL Concrete Testing Certification is highly desirable and will be considered a significant asset.
- Comfortable performing outdoor physical fieldwork in variable weather conditions and remote environments, with the physical fitness level required to meet the demands of the role.
- Availability and willingness to work both day and night shifts as required by project scheduling and operational needs.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are local to the area.
