We partner with schools and the community to ensure students from low-income neighborhoods graduate from high school and are ready for college and a career so they can lead fulfilling lives fueled by their passions, talents, and a love of learning.
BGCSV has grown steadily over the past decade to become the largest expanded learning organization in Santa Clara County. Our 35 program locations and team of nearly 400 staff serve more than 7,000 youth. Our clubhouses serve San Jose, Redwood City, Morgan Hill, Concord, Richmond, Pittsburg, Martinez, and Antioch youth.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities &
Essential Functions:
- Supervision & Safety:
Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for youth participants - Facilitate engaging activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development for a group of 20 members
- Provide mentorship and guidance to members, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their goals
- Implement educational programs that align with best practices in childhood development
- Supervise and manage groups of children in various settings, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and community organizations to enhance the overall development of youth
- Utilize skills in sports coaching, theater, or other extracurricular activities to enrich the program offerings
- Maintain accurate records of members' progress and participation in activities
- Respond to emergencies with appropriate first aid measures when necessary
Classroom Management and Teaching
- Establish classroom rules and behavior
- Provide children with basic needs and ensure supervision
- Adapt teaching methods to children's interests and learning styles
- Manage classroom activities, lessons, play, breaks, and meals
- Track children's progress and communicate effectively with parents and teachers
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom
Relationships
- Mentoring:
Serve as a positive role model and mentor to young participants, fostering their self-esteem and personal development - Maintaining a Positive Environment:
