Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Assistant Pastor of Discipleship and Christ the King Presbyterian Church
Assistant Pastor of Discipleship and Mission:
Christ the King Presbyterian Church   Christ the King Presbyterian Church (CtK) seeks an ordained pastor to lead the ministries of discipleship and mission during a season of congregational growth. Pastoral oversight at CtK has historically been organized along two complementary axes: a proclamation ministry encompassing preaching, teaching, and communication, and a pastoral ministry encompassing shepherding, discipleship, and community life. This position is designed for a pastor gifted in both domains—one equipped to teach and preach with clarity and breadth while also forming disciples and mobilizing the congregation for mission.
Ministry Vision
Two dimensions of the church’s vision are central to this role: the desire to grow as cross‑cultural disciples, and the call to deepen the church’s commitment to biblical justice and mercy. CtK seeks a leader who will give these priorities sustained, week‑to‑week ownership, attention, and strategic direction—not merely administering them as programs, but embodying and advancing them. The ideal candidate will bring the maturity, wisdom, and missional depth to shape the congregation for years to come.
This new position divides the shepherding and discipleship functions into two distinct roles. The Assistant Pastor of Discipleship and Mission will provide church‑wide discipleship leadership and oversight, as well as strategic leadership to two elements of CtK’s vision: cross‑cultural discipleship and biblical justice and mercy.
Qualifications     An ordained teaching elder in the PCA (or ordained in a sister NAPARC denomination)
Gifting across both “air war” and “ground war” ministry—a capable preacher, teacher, trainer, and discipler who is also relationally invested in forming and sending disciples.
Demonstrated cross‑cultural depth and a heart for cross‑cultural discipleship. Maturity and wisdom to lead the church’s biblical justice and mercy vision.
A track record of 5 years of faithful, mature ministry and the ability to develop and supervise ministry staff.
Strong missional reach and a lifestyle of relational evangelism with evangelistic fruit.
