Match Box Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a growing manufacturing client in the agricultural equipment sector. Our client designs and manufactures high-quality agricultural equipment used across global markets. Based in Mission, BC, they are experiencing strong growth and are expanding their design team to support new product development and ongoing improvements.
The Mechanical Designer / Drafter will play a key role in designing and developing detailed plans, drawings, schematics, and models in line with product specifications, standards, and best practices for agricultural equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop components for new products and modifications to existing products
- Review, check, and approve production drawings, manuals, instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Coordinate the implementation of design updates, cost reductions, and product changes
- Support production, purchasing, service, and quality teams with design reviews and revisions
- Maintain and update existing product data, including drawings, BOMs, and manuals
- Analyze engineering challenges and develop practical, creative solutions
- Configure products for sales orders and prepare associated drawings and BOMs
- Support and follow internal design standards, procedures, and documentation requirements
- Work in compliance with company policies, standards, and safety procedures
- Perform additional related duties as required
- Mechanical Technologist Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of design and drafting experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software (Autodesk preferred)
- Experience designing welded sheet metal and structural assemblies
- Solid understanding and application of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Strong problem-solving and 3D conceptual skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, sales, purchasing, and internal teams
- Experience with ERP systems and product data management tools (e.g., Autodesk Vault)
- Familiarity with Engineering Change Management processes (ECR, ECO, ECN)
- Agricultural equipment experience or farming background is considered an asset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
