Commercial Payload Engineer at K2

K2 is seeking a Mission Payload Engineer for its commercial programs to oversee integration of advanced payload capabilities on high-power satellites. This exciting role demands hands-on engineering expertise and collaboration in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

As a key member of K2 Space, you will be the primary technical interface among customers and partners throughout the satellite program lifecycle. Collaborating with engineering teams, you'll define and negotiate payload interfaces and ensure customer requirements are met, making an impact from proposal stages through to on-orbit operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage payload integration throughout the satellite lifecycle.

• Serve as primary customer contact for technical discussions.

• Develop payload interface control documentation and specifications.

• Create and execute verification and validation plans for payloads.

• Coordinate integration efforts with multiple engineering teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.

• 2+ years in aerospace or space industry.

• 2+ years in technical project management or systems engineering.

• Hands-on experience with aerospace integration and testing.

• Strong knowledge of spacecraft payload interfaces.
