Description

Our Story &

Purpose:

We’re Vancity, a member-owned credit union built on the principles of inclusion and social justice. Since 1946, our relentless commitment to these values has helped us challenge the status quo and break down barriers. We’ve made bold commitments to become net-zero by 2040 across all mortgages and loans, and we’re actively pursuing strategies in Indigenous banking and financial resilience for our members.

As the largest private sector Living Wage Employer in Canada, we’re proud to be consistently recognized as one of the country’s Top Employers. If you’re ready to join our team of 2,700 diverse individuals, access competitive rewards and benefits, and be part of a greater movement - apply today!

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a Branch Business Account Manager (BBAM) you will manage member contact in-person, over the phone and virtually with comfort, while acting on all available campaigns and proactively contacting for opportunities of growth. The BBAM will be able to process a full range of complex transactions that include personal and mortgage credit and a broad range of business banking needs (transactional, lending and deposit).

The BBAM will support branch goals by proactively bundling Vancity products and services, actively participating in campaigns and member offers, while working with a diverse network of internal specialists. The BBAM will be able to complete a wide range of tasks, from opening accounts (retail and business) and including completion of credit applications for both businesses and retail individuals, and will maintain availability in-branch to support new and existing members.

This is for a Full-time, Permanent role Located at Mission Community Branch (Branch 36) and reports directly to Branch Management Team.

  • Proactively connecting with members to understand needs and provide relevant advice (this should be very focused on improving results across all lines of business, increasing the number of lines of business serving all members as well as number of services each member holds)
  • Engaging with partners across the organization to present a full-spectrum of advice, always pushing oneself to better present areas of the business and solutions you are less comfortable with

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • University degree, on-the-ground business development experience (cold-calling included), lived-experience that may improve our ability to better serve under-served segments, relationship management experience
  • Demonstrated strong sales and referral results across lines of business
  • Minimum of 2 years in the Account Manager role & solid Lending Experience; proficient in residential mortgage
