Environmental Community Engagement Specialist

In this full-time role, you'll lead community engagement and communication strategies for the City of Mission's transition to cart-based waste collection. Leveraging your strong verbal and written skills, you will educate the public about important waste management initiatives. Your responsibilities will be focused on event planning and public relations within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and coordinate community engagement events
• Represent the City at public gatherings and informational sessions
• Respond to public inquiries regarding waste programs
• Maintain records of public feedback and interactions
• Collaborate with the Environmental Ambassador on outreach strategies
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in relevant fields
• Three years of experience in public engagement
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
Your expertise in outreach initiatives will help shape solid waste management practices in Mission.
