The Regional Department of Family Practice is seeking a Local Department Head at Mission Memorial Hospital. The responsibilities of the Local Department Head include (but are not limited to):

• Participating in the Site Operations Committee or equivalent for the Facility.
• Functioning as the communication channel between the Regional Department and the Facility to inform Members about Fraser Health, HAMAC, and Departmental objectives, policies, and activities, and to communicate Facility-specific issues to the Regional Department.
• Collaborating with the Regional Department Head to recommend appointments of practitioners and renewal of Medical Staff memberships and privileges.
• Ensuring coordination of programs operating within the Facility.
• Promoting health and wellness among Members.
• Investigating and documenting complaints regarding care provided by Members within the Department at the Facility, under the direction of the appropriate Regional Department Head and/or Site Medical Director.
• Encouraging a healthy, respectful workplace environment.
• Reviewing human resource requirements of the Regional Department practicing within the Facility with the Regional Department Head.
• Contributing to the search and selection process for vacancies in the Regional Department.
• Conducting morbidity and mortality reviews.
