Job SummaryWe are currently hiring for a casual Recreation Therapist to join our team in Mission, BC.
Responsibilities- Develops goals and objectives, policies and procedures for the Recreation Therapy program.
- Conducts a standardized individual assessment of each resident and develops an appropriate therapeutic recreation care plan; reassesses as required.
- Utilizes assessments to plan, organize, coordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate a wide range of therapeutic recreation and social programs.
- Ensures space, supply and staffing requirements are met for each program; conducts program activities as appropriate.
- Participates in staff selection, orientation and supervision; coordinates work assignments and performance evaluations.
- Administers and accounts for the therapeutic recreation supplies budget; maintains supplies and organizes fundraising activities.
- Orients and monitors volunteers; liaises with community Volunteer Coordinators; plans volunteer appreciation activities.
- Attends care conferences, charts weekly, participates in staff/team meetings; coordinates with other health professionals and community resources to facilitate programming.
- Monitors inventory of therapeutic recreation equipment and supplies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, plus two years' recent, related experience. Eligible for membership in the B.C. Therapeutic Recreation Association.

- Ability to operate related equipment; physical ability to perform duties; basic computer literacy.
