Your role will involve custodial tasks and minor maintenance every Sunday to Tuesday.
As part of the Parks, Recreation & Culture department, you'll be responsible for performing janitorial duties and maintaining facility areas such as ice arenas, pools, and meeting rooms. Key skills include knowledge of cleaning methods and interpersonal communication. You'll also assist in handling emergencies and support the orientation of new team members in a dynamic community setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform cleaning and refurbishing tasks for facilities
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment effectively
• Conduct minor maintenance tasks like replacing light fixtures
• Maintain security and respond to alarms and emergencies
• Build positive working relationships with staff and users
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
• Building Service Worker Certificate or equivalent
• Six months of experience in building maintenance
• Basic First Aid certification
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence
