About the Role The Operational Excellence Specialist will lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and operational performance. Working closely with leaders and employees throughout the organization, you'll analyze current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, implement practical solutions, and ensure sustainable results.
This is a highly collaborative, hands‑on role that requires regular observation of manufacturing processes (Gemba walks) and collaboration with employees across production, fabrication, assembly, painting, warehouse, and office environments to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
How You'll Make an Impact At JBS Equipment, we use the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology to drive continuous improvement. In this role, you'll:
Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Plan practical solutions through process analysis and Lean methodologies.
Do by leading improvement projects and implementing sustainable changes.
Check results using KPIs and operational data.
Act by standardizing successful improvements and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Leading operational improvement projects from concept through implementation.
Applying Lean Manufacturing principles to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Analyzing operational data and identifying opportunities to eliminate waste and improve workflows.
Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to implement sustainable improvements.
Developing standard work, procedures, and visual management tools.
Monitoring project performance and reporting measurable business results.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting process improvement, operational excellence, project management, engineering, quality, or production functions
Experience applying Lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, and Root Cause Analysis
Skills & Competencies Demonstrate ability to establish priorities, manage multiple initiatives, and achieve SMART goals.
Relationships: strong emotional intelligence, collaboration skills
Working knowledge in all four English language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Proficient math, analytical and problem‑solving skills
Proficiency with Windows operating system, email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, with strong proficiency in Excel for data analysis, reporting, and visualization
Strong professional and work ethics, self‑motivated, accountable and results oriented.
Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License and access to an insured vehicle
Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards.
The ability to perform visual inspections, review documents and technical information, and safely observe manufacturing processes is required.
