MAKING AN IMPACT
As a senior member of the driven and passionate Communications team at the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), the Senior Manager, Mission Communications, would focus primarily on developing and implementing communications strategies and plans that elevate our mission programs, drive revenue, and protect and enhance CCS’s reputation with donors and the public. Reporting to the Director, Strategic Communications, the Senior Manager is an experienced individual who excels at providing strategic counsel to business partners and driving forward multi-channel communications plans that deliver results.
The Senior Manager has robust public relations experience, is highly collaborative, and is enthusiastic about guiding and supporting teams.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Drive the development, execution and evaluation of strategic communications plans to support the Mission, Information and Support Services, Advocacy and Research teams at CCSServe as a trusted advisor to the Mission, Information and Support Services, Advocacy and Research teams at CCSIdentify emerging communications needs and define key opportunities for improvement within the public narratives of CCS’s priority issuesProvide strategic communications and issues management counselSupport provincial and federal advocacy activities through effective communications strategiesSupport the Research team’s activities through effective communications strategies to increase the profile of research impact and help drive revenueSupport the Revenue Development team’s research communications needs by providing strategic oversight of processes and tools that enhance research storytelling capacityProvide evaluation and recommendations to improve communications to meet quality standards and support/advance CCS’s positioning, reputation and brandIdentify, monitor and provide counsel to reply to issues, risks or crises related to the Mission, Information and Support Services, Advocacy and Research portfolios at CCSSupport with communications requests as appropriateDevelop tools, materials and collateral pieces to support CCS communications with key internal and external audiences and set the standard for high impact, high quality and on brand communicationsWork with internal stakeholders including senior executives, fundraising and community staff to develop and implement communications tools to align narratives used to communicate on core CCS issuesEmploy effective public engagement tools to shape the national discussion on CCS prioritiesAid teams to create compelling communications materials designed to build relevance and trust in CCSLead and mentor a team of effective & engaged communicatorsSupport the growth and development of 2-3 direct reports as well as indirect reportsFoster a high-performance culture that leverages the unique talents and strengths of each member while encouraging their growth and development.Champion CCS as a hero in the face of cancer.Contribute to our culture of diversity, inclusion, belonging and equity (DIBE) by ensuring that all staff feel represented, valued, and heard across all aspects of their identity, including gender, age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, and sexuality.Other duties as assignedQ…
