Position: On-Call Guardians Team Member Role
Be a key part of Leq’á:mel First Nation's environmental initiatives as an On-Call Guardians Team Member. This role supports monitoring, data collection, and community outreach throughout the area.

Leq’á:mel First Nation is actively seeking an On-Call Guardians Team Member to join its Natural Resources Department. This on-call position involves unpredictable hours, including evenings, weekends, and night shifts, focusing on environmental and cultural monitoring. Applicants must demonstrate respect for Leq’á:mel traditions and a willingness to learn about the Guardians Initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct environmental and cultural monitoring to protect significant sites

• Collect field data and prepare maps and reports

• Identify and manage invasive plant species

• Support fish salvage operations and habitat restoration

• Assist with community events and outreach efforts

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Leq’á:mel culture and protocols

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions

• Basic Microsoft Office proficiency

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable background check
