Position: Quality Control Team Lead (Mat Leave Coverage)
Position:  Quality Control Lead Technician

Reports to:

Quality Assurance Supervisor
Starting wage is $24 - 27 per hour.
We are looking for a QC Lead Technician to join our Quality Assurance team! This position will help ensure all products meet regulatory, internal, and customer requirements, as well as supporting administrative tasks within the department.
Opportunities  Responsibilities include support QA Supervisor on training and developing QC Technicians, managing QC paperwork for the department, staying organized in a fast-paced environment and effectively coaching production staff while demonstrating consistency and follow-through. You have intermediate level Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
Experience   You have experience troubleshooting complex QC/QA issues
You have experience working in a similar capacity, preferably in a food production facility
Nice-to-Have   You have a Degree in Food Science or related discipline
Detailed Description of Duties:
Monitor quality standards of finished product and make quality related decisions regarding compliance with company regulatory and certification standards
Review and maintain all QA and QC records, documents, and samples pertaining to HACCP, BRC, CFIA, etc.
Support with writing and updating standard operating procedures
Conduct shelf-life studies and compile reports
Assist in internal and external audits and implement corrective actions and follow upon NC.
Effectively communicate quality control expectations to employees and support with training for GMP’s
Conduct QA tests to ensure products meet specifications
Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures such as BRC, HACCP, GMP’s, SSOP, process deviation, hold and release procedures
Maintain product traceability verifying lot numbers and systems
Effectively solve problems analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending the right course of action
Communicate effectively with the rest of the team to ensure clarity and continuity
Perform various inspections to ensure quality (i.e., pre-operation, ingredient, shipping & receiving)
Provide backup support for other QA positions as needed
Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries of quality control activities for management review.
Verification of production and quality document for effectiveness
Developing SOP, SSOP, forms when necessary, with proper document control.
Environmental monitoring and evaluation
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Train and mentor junior quality control technicians on testing procedures, equipment operation, and quality standards.
Provide guidance and support to production staff on quality-related issues and best practices.
Assist in the supervision of quality control activities during shifts or in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager or designate.
Assist the Quality Assurance Manager or Supervisor in scheduling and coordinating quality control activities.
Perform other administrative tasks such as inventory management, procurement of laboratory supplies, and budget tracking as needed.
