Travel RN - Pediatrics

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a day shift position requiring 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience and a California RN license.

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred
• Epic EMR experience required

• Work in a 24-bed Pediatrics unit, including 4 beds designated for epilepsy video telemetry monitoring
• Care for patients ranging from newborn through seventeen years old
• General med/surg population including respiratory, surgical, neurological, and infectious conditions
• Unit experiences high admission churn, ranging from 4 to 26 visits daily
• All-RN staffing model with no CNAs used
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to NICU, PICU, and Eating Disorder Unit with a 6-hour orientation provided
• Schedules are released 2-3 weeks in advance on a 4-week cycle
• Charting completed in Epic May be one of only two RNs on shift at night, requiring strong independent clinical judgment
• Travelers are often used to fill gaps for short-staffed shifts, including Sunday nights
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, with no holiday RTO accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
