POSITION OVERVIEW

The Upper School Science Teacher is a full‑time teacher and member of the Science Department. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment where value is placed on the skills and passions of the discipline within a larger context of Milken's school mission, core values, and educational philosophy. Primary responsibilities include teaching 5 Upper School Science classes per year with a primary teaching load in Chemistry, serving as a Student Advisor, and collaborating on school‑wide programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide differentiation and intervention when necessary and appropriate.
- Monitor progress of each student for mastery of course standards.
- Provide consistent high quality feedback to students that is consistent with articulated course standards.
- Design high quality, student centred lessons that are well‑sequenced in terms of content and developmental appropriateness.
- Create a safe and welcoming learning environment.
- Engage with students outside of the classroom through office hours, extracurricular activities, clubs, and school‑wide programming.
- Maintain clear and ongoing professional communication with parents and students.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, required; master's degree preferred.
- Previous teaching experience required.
Start: M - F by 7:45 AM
End: M - Th 3:15 PM, F 2:30 PM

SALARY RANGE$75,000 - $95,000
