Doel Resident Senior Design Engineer

Our client is looking for a Senior Design Engineer for Doel.

• You design and verify structural designs, including structural analyses using Finite Element Modeling (FEM) according to Eurocodes and American standards (ASCE, ACI, USNRC), as well as dynamic analyses for hazards such as earthquakes, explosions, tornadoes, and aircraft crashes.
• You collaborate with the drafting office and other disciplines in a multidisciplinary approach.
• You contribute to writing technical specifications and reviewing documents issued by contractors (calculation notes, method statements, etc.).
• You ensure compliance with commitments regarding scope and schedule for design activities.
• You mentor junior engineers, sharing your expertise and experience with the team.

• You hold a Civil Engineering degree and have at least 20 years of experience in structural analysis and design.
• You master structural and FEM software (ANSYS, SCIA…) for static and dynamic loads, both linear and non-linear.
• You have a practical, hands‑on approach, focused on quality, and are curious about the nuclear sector and its challenges (safety, quality assurance).
• You have strong knowledge of international codes and standards (Eurocodes, ASCE, ACI, USNRC) and are comfortable working in demanding industrial environments.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English (French is an asset) and enjoy working in a collaborative setting.
