Senior Project Manager – Hyperscale Data Center New Construction
Location: Southeast U.S. (Flexible within regional markets)
Company: Owen Electric Company, Inc.
Industry: Mission-Critical / Hyperscale Data Center Electrical Construction
About Owen Electric Company
Owen Electric Company (OEC) is a rapidly growing electrical contractor delivering complex
industrial, mission-critical, and hyperscale data center projects across the Southeast. We
operate with a field-first culture, disciplined execution, and a deep commitment to Safety,
People, and Quality.
As the hyperscale market accelerates, we are expanding our delivery capability and building a
team of highly skilled operators who can manage fast-paced, technically demanding work with
precision, urgency, and repeatability.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Project Manager with strong experience in hyperscale data centers and
the ability to operate at a program level—not just a project level. This role is ideal for a senior
operator who can manage multiple phases, buildings, or work streams while driving schedule,
cost, and execution discipline across a broader program structure.
This is not an administrative PM position. We need someone who can lead from the front:
coordinating design, buyout, procurement, field execution, commissioning support, and
closeout while maintaining clear communication and alignment with the Project Executive,
client, GC, and field leadership. The Senior PM will be central to developing repeatable
systems, improving planning, and supporting the scale of OEC’s mission-critical portfolio.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram-Level Execution
- Manage multiple work streams or phases within a hyperscale data center program, ensuring alignment with overall schedule, milestones, and resource plans.
- Coordinate program deliverables across estimating, procurement, VDC/BIM, engineering, field operations, commissioning, and client stakeholders.
- Implement standardized workflows, tracking tools, and reporting structures to support repeatable, scalable program delivery.
Project Leadership
- Lead day-to-day project operations for assigned phases, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, buyout, forecasting, and financial performance.
- Draft clear scopes of work, change orders, procurement packages, and communication plans that protect OEC’s commercial interests.
- Maintain disciplined cost and risk control with accurate, timely forecasting and proactive mitigation of emerging issues.
Design & Preconstruction Coordination
- Partner with clients, engineers, VDC, and the Project Executive to translate conceptual designs into executable plans.
- Support design development, constructability reviews, long-lead material strategies, and sequence of operations planning.
- Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and scope narratives as needed for program growth or future phases.
Client & GC Engagement
- Serve as a key point of contact for project-level communication with mission-critical owners, GCs, and trade partners.
- Lead coordination meetings, progress reviews, and program reporting with clarity and a solutions-oriented approach.
- Build strong relationships rooted in trust, technical understanding, and consistent execution.
Team Oversight & Development
- Provide leadership and support to superintendents, engineers, and project coordinators across assigned phases.
- Drive accountability in planning, communication, document management, and schedule discipline.
- Promote a culture of proactive problem solving, high performance, and continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
- Support field teams by ensuring materials, tools, information, and manpower are aligned with the project’s critical path.
- Coordinate prefabrication strategies, logistics plans, material release schedules, and commissioning readiness.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, quality control procedures, LOTO requirements, testing, and turnover documentation.
- Seven or more years of progressive project management experience in large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical electrical construction.
- Experience executing large hyperscale or mission-critical projects ($25M–$100M+), preferably within a…
