Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Sycamore Mission Critical is seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer with 3+ years of experience. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be expected to travel to jobsites to work closely with subcontractors and vendors on construction sites to perform functional testing of various electrical systems. This testing ensures that the systems operate according to design criteria and meet the high standards required by Sycamore Mission Critical's clients.

Due to this, attention to detail is a critical requirement for any Commissioning Engineer. You will need verify that each component and system functions correctly and adheres to the specified design criteria.
Job
Duties Include:
- Manage commissioning projects from start to finish
- Coordinate with all stakeholders required for scheduling commissioning activities
- Prepare commissioning specifications
- Review equipment submittals and control sequences of operation
- Develop pre-functional checklists and functional test procedures
- Conduct equipment installation and construction site inspections
- Prepare and issue construction field reports
- Execute and witness performance functional testing of electrical systems
- Develop and maintain commissioning documentation including issues log, systems manual, and commissioning report
- Conduct retro-commissioning of existing buildings for NYC Local Law 87 compliance
- Support energy audits and detailed feasibility studies
- Provide troubleshooting and facilities support assistance
- Perform power quality meter testing
- Perform thermographic infrared thermography
- Provide in-depth analysis of electrical systems

Educational Background: A U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field, or the foreign degree equivalent. Alternatively, equivalent military or maritime experience in a technical electrical or mechanical systems field will be considered.
Professional
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the offered role or similar positions. This experience should include functional performance testing on electrical or mechanical systems, as well as hands‑on experience in data center operations and troubleshooting facility issues.
Technical
Skills:
Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems. Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements is essential.
This is a full-time position offering a competitive benefits package, which includes a comprehensive health insurance plan, a matched 401K retirement savings plan, and generous paid time off (PTO). The base salary range for this position is $90,000-$125,000, though exceptional candidates may qualify for adjustments beyond this range.
