Founding Infrastructure Engineer​/Cofounder

Conduit builds merchant and shopper tools on Bitcoin, Nostr, and open protocols so people can trade online without gatekeepers or data-mining.

We’re hiring a hands‑on founding infrastructure engineer as a true cofounder. You’ll make Conduit reliable, secure, and private by design.

• Core backend & infrastructure. You’ll design and run the services that power merchant tools and consumer flows, working closely with our CTO (Acea).
• Logins and keys done right. Build and maintain secure login, key management, delegation, and recovery that's simple to use, hard to misuse.
• Secure enclaves for merchants. Deploy critical merchant tooling inside trusted execution environments (e.g., Intel SGX, AWS Nitro Enclaves) with remote verification so counter parties can trust how code runs.
• Uptime and visibility. Set clear availability goals, add meaningful logs/metrics/tracing, and keep on‑call practical. You’ll ensure our code and operations actually match our Terms and Privacy Policy.
• Payments that just work. Integrate Lightning payments via well‑supported providers and Nostr Wallet Connect–compatible services. Keep options open; avoid lock‑in.
• Safe releases. Ship changes with staged rollouts and fast rollback paths so upgrades don’t break merchant businesses.
• Security posture that grows with us. Build toward SOC 2 readiness (access control, auditability, least privilege, incident process) while staying lean.

• You’ve built and operated backend systems with real uptime expectations and learned from incidents.
• Strong track record with secure systems: isolation, secrets, key handling, and practical threat modeling.
• Hands‑on with trusted execution (SGX, Nitro, or similar) and comfortable proving what runs where.
• Solid experience with identity: auth flows, recovery, delegated actions, and sane defaults.
• You can integrate payments reliably and choose vendors pragmatically without painting us into a corner.
• You care about observability (the non‑dystopian kind), testing, and boring correctness as much as speed.
• Curiosity (or experience) with Nostr and Bitcoin and a bias for shipping.
• You communicate clearly to non‑technical stakeholders, partner well with frontend, and write things down.

Language/runtime agnostic. If you’ve shipped production services in any of Go, Rust, Type Script/Node, or Python (and can justify your picks) we’re listening.

• True cofounder equity (5–10%+ for the right person), standard vesting; real influence on direction.
• Milestone bonuses paid in Bitcoin for critical deliverables.
• Part‑time to start (up to ~10 hrs/week, deliverable‑based), with a clear path to full‑time after our seed.
• A chance to help set a privacy‑first standard for online commerce.

• Team: operator who’s built from zero to seven‑figure profit, an enterprise‑scale CTO, a Bitcoin/fintech designer, and a scaler who’s taken products like Polymarket from first users to global adoption.
