The Mission to Seafarers seeks a Part-time Chaplain (Lay or Ordained) to be based at the Port of Milford Haven, the UK’s largest energy port.
You’ll visit ships berthed within the port, extending the hand of friendship to seafarers and offering spiritual, emotional support and advice. Working with the Chaplaincy Team Lead for Wales and the local MtS branch, you’ll co‑ordinate volunteers to undertake ship visits, facilitate access to ships, and respond to emergencies involving seafarers.
The Port of Milford Haven is one of the deepest natural harbours in the world with over 3,000 ships visiting each year. One of MtS’s key priorities for this role is to better address the needs of both men and women seafarers.
This post is open to ordained and non‑ordained Christians of all denominations with a strong Christian faith and empathy with MtS’s Anglican roots. You should have strong pastoral experience, adaptable interpersonal skills, and a full, clean UK driving licence. Applicants must already have the right to live and work in the UK.
