* Note:
Foreign language speakers receive a higher pay (we are currently seeking German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian).
Day Tours:
Starting at $23.00 per hour.
Multi-Day Tours:
Starting at $250.00 per full day (7+ hours), $125.00 per half day (under 7 hours).
Shuttle Driving (non-guiding):
Starting at $200.00 per full day, $100.00 per half day.
Prep work: $20.00 per hour (max 4 hours per tour, pre and post).
Paid training: $7.50/hour or federal minimum wage, whichever is greater.
Per diem for meals not provided:
Breakfast $20, Lunch $20, Dinner $30
Job Summary
Southwest Adventure Tours (SWAT) is looking for passionate and knowledgeable Tour Guides to lead unforgettable journeys through the American West. As a SWAT Guide, you’ll do more than just drive and lead hikes — you’ll create immersive experiences, connecting guests to the landscapes, history, and culture of the region.
This role combines adventure, storytelling, and hospitality. You’ll be the face of SWAT, ensuring tours run smoothly, safely, and memorably, while representing our mission, values, and standards in every interaction.

Guide and manage SWAT tours throughout the U.S. in a professional, safe, and engaging manner.
Prepare thoroughly for each tour, including confirming logistics (lodging, meals, activities) 24 hours before departure.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of geology, history, wildlife, photography, and cultural heritage of the Southwest.
Complete all trip reports, including detailed timing, guest experiences, receipts, and photographs.
Capture a minimum of 5 photographs per day and upload them nightly; share with Operations for marketing and archival purposes.
Ensure DOT compliance, including daily ELD logs, inspections, and medical certification.
Maintain CPR/First Aid certification; obtain additional training (e.g., Wilderness First Responder) if requested by employer.
Correctly use and care for company property (vehicles, credit cards, equipment).
Promote SWAT on social media once per tour and encourage guest engagement.
Adhere to company dress and appearance standards.
Uphold SWAT’s Mission Statement, Core Values, and Brand Standards in all guest interactions
RequirementsMinimum age: 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (1 or fewer tickets).
DOT Medical Certificate (if driving multi-passenger vehicles).
Current First Aid/CPR certification (required).
Ability to lift and carry equipment, lead hikes, and handle long working days.
Strong interpersonal and storytelling skills.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and peak season availability (May–October).
Must be able to work independently and manage groups without direct supervision.
