Summary
The
- Estimates project costs, consults, and provides timely and effective communication during a project with multiple internal groups at all levels of the organization including sales and engineering on technical matters, ensuring the feasibility of proposed solutions.
- Participates in needs analysis and information gathering meetings with Sales, Service, Distribution, and customers as required to help define the best customer solution.
- Supports all industrial and other products that are designed, built, shipped, or sold out of the company's manufacturing facilities.
- Provides outside vendors and contractors pricing on modifications to existing products and products not carried in our system.
- Evaluates existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggests changes to meet customer requirements.
- Works with engineers and other departments to resolve problems that arise during and after product implementation.
- Produces reports and analyzes data to track product trends, profitability, and close rates of special products.
- Participates, develops and may conduct user training.
- Completes required training as assigned.
- Organize travel, transportation, meals, and expenses for technician Instructor Led Training classes at the corporate office.
- Follow progress of engineering teams on solution designs to maintain consistent and reasonable lead times.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Technical Sales Specialist coordinates various departments and external contacts to provide cost-effective custom weighing solutions that meet or exceed customers' expectations. This position will help maximize the market share and profitability of the Fairbanks Scales product lines.

- Associate's degree in business or a related technical field or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in scale, process control equipment or software support is preferred.
- Experience in costing industrial equipment, sales or custom products is preferred.
- Experience in project coordination and/or management, is preferred.
- Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Ability to develop effective relationships with all levels of the organization and with external customers.
- Proficient in MS Office products (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook).
Skills and Abilities
- May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products specifically Outlook, Excel & Word.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to develop and maintain business relationships.
- General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
