About the Team:

The Quizlet mobile org is made up of 4 teams each owning a core vertical of our mobile experience on iOS and Android. The team works together with product, design, and other engineering partner teams to deliver and improve our experiences to help all students study and learn new information. We care deeply about the user experience and are laser focused on building the best mobile experience for learning.

About the Role:

You will work with a team of engineers working on our Android apps, focused on our core study modes, home navigation, or content features. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the engineers on your team and across the mobile space to build solutions that allow us to launch quickly and iterate while setting us up for future success. You’ll work with our Product, Design, and engineers from our backend and web teams, as well as ML engineers, to build features that are flexible, delightful, and powered by our cutting‑edge recommendation systems.

You will always be thinking about quality, observability, and how to level up our experience while also delivering for our immediate customer needs.

We’re happy to share that this is an onsite position in our London office. To help foster team collaboration, we require that employees be in the office a minimum of three days per week
:
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and as needed by your manager or the company. We believe that this working environment facilitates increased work efficiency, team partnership, and supports growth as an employee and organization.

In this role, you will:
  • Design, build, and maintain high quality mobile software that applies current industry best practices
  • Collaborate closely with product and other cross‑functional partners to define requirements and deliver solutions
  • Understand and operate in our existing systems and proactively suggest improvements and new ideas based on industry best practices
  • Drive incident investigations, post mortems, and retrospectives and effectively advocate for long‑term improvements to systems and processes
  • Influence within your team for the right engineering improvements to increase quality of our software, testing, and processes
What you bring to the table:
  • Multiple years of experience in mobile software development
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills on mobile software products
  • Proficiency in Android development and some level of comfort with the other
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a range of audiences
Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience with native Android and cross‑platform mobile development approaches; including evaluating tradeoffs
  • Track record of influencing adjacent engineering teams on best practices or mobile client needs
  • Experience with SDUI approaches
