Senior Lead Football Coach

UWCSEA East is looking to expand our football programme. Reporting to the Director of Community Operations and Activities and the Heads of Activities, the position is responsible for the delivery of the in-house high-quality training and competition experiences of the Football programme for the College.

• Leads football on the pitch operations, coaching philosophy, and player pathways.
• Manages:
  Coaching, performance and coach education for coaching staff
• Organises matches, tournaments, and service programmes.
• Designs and delivers the football curriculum for specific age or ability groups.
• Active participation in talent identification, recruitment and onboarding of coaching staff, mentoring and conducting per iodised peer to peer feedback
• Planning, feedback and communication with parents and athletes.
• Leads, delivers and creates tournaments, trips, camp programmes for football across the college.
• Liaise with internal coaching academic staff and support their coach education
• Oversees kit distribution, maintenance, and training equipment.
• PE talent identification and teacher education
• Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines set by governing bodies
• Leads Team meeting in collaboration with the Programme Coordinator aligning with the strategic vision and goals.
• Development of links to professional clubs for pathways for talent identification
• Leads and is responsible for the Risk Assessment and SOP for the football programme and facility for football.

• UEFA coaching licence or similar coaching badges
• Education/Coaching/Sports Science degree would be an advantage
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
• 3-5+ years in a a coaching role for a football academy
• Minimum of 6 years successful coaching experience (with a proven track record) to include a detailed understanding of performance needs of developing footballers
• Experience in fostering productive relationships with other coaches and being able to encourage creativity and contribution from others.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues both within football and from other departments.
• Demonstrated integrity and is fair, equitable and ethical in approach. Protects confidential information, adheres to policies and demonstrates loyalty to football and the club
• Understanding and appreciation of the field of talent identification, selection and confirmation and how this can contribute to the development of footballers
• A high level of personal integrity with a genuine enjoyment of connecting with all members the School community
