Duties, Responsibilities & OtherWe have an immediate need to bring on a CE&I Record Keeper to join our Texas team. This position is essential for maintaining accurate records and documentation related to highway, transportation, private, and municipal construction projects across the state. As a CE&I Record Keeper, you will support field engineers, inspectors, and project managers by managing, coordinating, and organizing construction records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Your work will ensure project transparency, accountability, contract compliance, and successful audits.
- Maintain organized and complete project records including daily work reports, inspection logs, material tickets and testing, pay estimates, change orders, and records associated with federal requirements such as DBE reporting and labor interviews.
- Input and manage data using construction management systems such as Site Manager, APPIA, etc.
- Track contractor performance, project timelines, submittals, and correspondence.
- Compile documentation to support progress payments and project milestones.
- Assist with preparation for audits, project closeout, and claims resolution.
- Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, contractors, and administrative staff to ensure accurate reporting and timely updates.
- File and archive records according to company & client standards and retention schedules.
- Perform other administrative tasks related to construction project documentation as required.
- Associate’s Degree or higher
- At least 12 years of experience in recordkeeping, administrative support, or construction documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and document management systems.
- Experience working with TxDOT construction or maintenance projects.
Pre‑employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based on position.
Education And/or Skills Required- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience with a high school diploma/GED or minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Ability to understand construction plans, specifications, and procedures.
- Demonstrate basic math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Possess the ability to read, write, and communicate fluently.
- Work effectively as a team member and complete daily reports by hand and computer.
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with various stakeholders.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to maintain required certifications.
