Associate's Degree or 2 years of post-secondary education: $20/hr.

Wage:
Bachelor's Degree: $25/hr.

To assist and promote La Joya ISD District in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement.

To provide GEAR UP students with academic assistance in academic areas where improvement is needed.

High School Graduate and College Students with a preferred strong math or language arts background.

• Assist students in mastering the Texas Essential Knowledge and skills in the core academic areas
• Assist students in improving study skills necessary for improving academic performance.
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Keep teacher informed of student progress and areas of concern.
• Interact and communicate in a supportive, courteous, and respectful manner with students, families, community members, and other staff members.
• Maintain student confidentiality.
• Attend skill development training for tutors.
• Become familiar with textbooks and material in classes assigned.
• Set an example of personal and academic excellence.
• Adhere to district rules, policies, and regulations.
• Any other duties assigned by the GEAR UP Coordinator.
