Telemetry Registered Nurse; RN

Overview

We are seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), sometimes referred to as a Telemetry RN, to attend to patients with telemetry needs in our telemetry units, including those requiring cardiac monitoring. The Tele RN will monitor and interpret patients' vital signs, such as heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level. Continuous monitoring enables gathering real-time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient s condition.

This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assess patients  conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, to create individualized care plans
• Monitor patients  cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, enabling remote monitoring of heart rates and rhythms
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient s clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, and monitor patients for adverse reactions
• Provide hands-on care to patients, including wound care, administering treatments, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support
• Educate patients and their families about conditions, medications, and treatments, and provide guidance on self-care practices and lifestyle modifications in the Telemetry Unit
• Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions throughout shift and address concerns to the physician as soon as possible
• Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Before we go any further, we have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current (preferred)
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience (preferred)
• Ventilator Management experience (preferred)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
