Position: HVAC Mechanic

Location: Maintenance Department

Salary Range: $16.75 - $23.13 per hour

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical school preferred
• Refrigeration recovery certification
• Valid Texas driver’s license and insurability
• Minimum five years experience in HVAC/Controls field
• Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and reference materials
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, Microsoft Office, and handheld devices
• Knowledge of HVAC controls software systems

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain HVAC and refrigeration equipment
• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including rooftop units
• Install and expand HVAC systems
• Calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring
• Fabricate and install ductwork and piping
• Maintain records for Freon usage, maintenance, and repairs
• Perform preventive maintenance and air quality testing
• Respond to emergency calls and perform repairs as needed
• Manage DDC HVAC control systems
• Work outside regular hours, including nights and weekends
• Follow safety procedures and ensure equipment safety
• Assist with projects and coordinate with building staff

• Work involves physical demands such as lifting, climbing, and exposure to temperature extremes
• Ensure safety and security of tools and vehicles
• Perform other duties as assigned
