Job Description

* Senior Tax Accountant (CPA) – Independent Contractor

* Location:

* Mississauga, ON (On-site)

* Position:
* CPA – Senior Tax Accountant

* Engagement Type:
* Independent Contractor (through agency)

* Contract Term:
* 1 Year (with potential for direct hire or extension based on performance)

* Pay Range:* $50–$60 per hour (final rate determined after client interview and based on experience)

* Schedule:

* Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (flexible based on worker preference)

Note:

Occasional weekend work may be required during peak tax season.

* Key Responsibilities
*

* Prepare and review personal and small business tax returns (T1, T2, T3, GST/HST).

* Provide tax planning and advisory services to individuals and entrepreneurs.

* Review work completed by junior staff to ensure accuracy and CRA compliance.

* Handle CRA correspondence, audits, and notices of assessment.

* Identify and improve workflow processes to enhance operational efficiency.

* Stay up to date with Canadian tax laws, CRA policies, and tax credit updates.

* Mentor and guide junior team members.

* Collaborate with management to support business growth.

* Maintain and strengthen client relationships.

* Required Qualifications
*

* CPA designation (completed or in final stages preferred).

* Minimum 5 years of progressive tax accounting experience (public practice experience preferred).

* Strong knowledge of Canadian income tax regulations (T1, T2, T3, GST/HST).

* Experience with non-resident or cross-border taxation (considered an asset).

* Prior team supervision or leadership experience.

* Proficiency with Tax Prep, Profile, Future Tax, and accounting software such as Quick Books.

* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

* Strong communication and client service skills.

* Ability to work fully on-site in Mississauga.
