You as a Cost Accountant will:

Create, configure, and monitor projects in Project Management System and Financial Management System in compliance with the prime contract and company policies

Monitor and provide guidance to project financial activities (contracts, change management, Purchase Orders, client billing, subcontract payments, and forecasting) in accordance with company best practices

Full cycle accounting; including assist with monthly billings, A/R collection, invoice entry, journal entries, ledger reconciliations, cash flow management

Assists with completion of weekly, monthly, yearly adjustments, submittals and reports

Provides reports and documents to parental company as required

Support legal and insurance department on claims and cost recovery as required

Is this the right role for you?

Two to three years of relevant accounting experience in a construction environment or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience

You could correctly identify financial situations and produce logical solutions to support a project team/business area

You demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills as well as a keen willingness to work in an open concept and joint venture environment

You demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines

You should be proficient with Microsoft Office Product (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); it would be an asset if you have experience with insight data analytics applications

You have experience working with a variety of accounting software

You have post-secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, or Accounting
