Our client is a group of clinicians and administrative professionals providing a complete range of family clinic services for over 20 years. The team is passionate and dedicated to client care and believe that each member of their team is essential in ensuring that their clients have a pleasant and comfortable experience at each visit.

Our client owns and operates two large medical clinics, one in Mississauga and another north of the GTA. The clinics are owner managed with an entrepreneurial environment, where there is a strong respectful relationship between all employees. This position will be located at the Mississauga location.

The company is looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and highly organized individual to join their dynamic team as an Accountant .  In this capacity you will manage all the company’s financial records and meet regulatory reporting requirements. This role is multi-faceted and performs duties and responsibilities related to accounting, payroll, customer service, and other supportive administrative duties as assigned. The company has a close-knit team, where building a strong working relationship with the team will be key to succeeding in this position.

Responsibilities:

Maintain the general ledger on Quickbooks by posting financial transactions, establishing accounts, preparing interim financial reports, and reporting on operational activities to management.

Overseeing, posting, and reconciling bank, credit card, and petty cash accounts including consolidating and reconciling transactions between the various software systems utilized and Quick Books.

Managing corporate minute books, documents, and business name registrations.

Preparing and filing HST and other regulatory reports as required.

Identifying, developing, and implementing system improvements and controls to streamline internal transaction processes and adhere to corporate objectives.

Maintaining fixed asset and depreciation schedules.

Liaising with external accountants and providing accurate and verifiable data to assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.

Payroll – reviewing and initiating payments to government agencies and preparing annual T4s and reconciliation reports.li

Allocating employee time between various rate groups to agree with contractual obligations.

Issuing and reporting on accurate and timely payments to employees.

Accounts Payable – entering and maintaining accurate supplier records and processing payments per applicable schedules.

Accounts Receivable – ensuring accounts comply with internal credit and collection policies and reporting on bad debts.

Managing the administration of the virtual payment processing terming.

Maintaining the physical and digital office records including the filing of invoices and receipts.

Performing other accounting and administrative duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation will be considered an asset.

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar capacity, including full-charge accounting and payroll administration.

Proficient in Quick Books, BI software and Microsoft Office.

Experience with Claude or other AI solutions is considered a strong asset

Previous experience with dental software programs and a working knowledge of medical administrative processes will be considered an asset.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving with the ability to identify trends, establish benchmarks, and provide credible analysis and business recommendations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and within the administrative team.

Excellent time management skills and ability to complete tasks with competing priorities.

A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
