General Accountant

Seeking a detail oriented General Accountant for a Canadian Manufacturer of garage door and entry door components, for a 3 month, on site temp assignment.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM (On site)
Compensation: $25-$27/hour
Type:
Temp – 3 Months

This role supports day to day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records and smooth month end processes.

Required Skills
-Previous experience as a General Accountant, Staff Accountant, or similar role.
-Strong understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
-Proficiency with Sage accounting software (required).
-Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
-Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
-Perform daily accounting tasks including posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
-Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
-Assist with month end closings, accruals, and financial reporting.
-Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and customer accounts.
-Support inventory cost accounting, variance tracking, and related reporting.
-Prepare and maintain accounting schedules, reports, and documentation for internal review or audit support.
